About Us

San Xavier Mission School is determined to provide the highest quality of Catholic education in the Tucson area, currently we serve grades K-8. Since 1864, we have provided a Catholic education for the Tohono O’odham people and more recently have opened up our enrollment to all. Our staff is experienced and committed to excellence in the education and formation of all our students.

In 2002 the school was blessed to get a new wing put on; it doubled the size of the school. Now we have four more classrooms, a state of the art   computer lab, an art room, a meeting room that doubles as a music room, and storage space. This has greatly enhanced our ability to provide the best education in the area.

Mission Statement of Our School

San Xavier Mission School is committed to educate, nurture, and empower Tohono O’odham students, other Native American students, and students of all cultures, to strengthen their living expression of the Catholic faith. Our diverse academic program develops a student’s respect for tradition and culture as well as provides the necessary skills to succeed in an ever changing world.

Philosophy of Our School

We at San Xavier Misison School strive to relate all of like to the Good News of Salvation so that the light of faith will shine through everything that the students learn within their Catholic education. Privileged to participate in this challenge, we are called to teach the Good News, to build community, and to serve the needs of the loal and universal Catholic Church.

San Xavier Mission School joins students, teachers, principal, pastor and staff as parts of one community. Parents are central figures since they are the primary educators of their children.

The school community concerns itself with opening the whole person by facilitating religious development; achievement; habits of life long learning; community service; moral, personal, social, physical, healthy habits, and particularly cultural development.

The qualities of compassion, self-disciple, flexibility and honesty mark the stly of Christian leadership, which modeled and encouraged in students as they grow into Christian adulthood.
